Inspired Painting Holidays and Art Workshops has a programme of residential art courses each year with artist and experienced tutor Catherine Stott. Courses are run from Weston House, with teaching sessions at many outdoor locations and visitor attractions in the area, as well as the artist’s studio and garden.
Inspired Residential Art courses are fully catered with comfortable friendly accommodation in our two houses in the village, with individual attention from a professional artist and experienced tutor as part of a very small group (5-8 students). Tuition in drawing, composition, painting techniques and outdoor working is included as appropriate and the small group format makes most courses suitable for beginners as well as experienced painters.
The spring to autumn programme consists of full painting weeks of 7 nights and shorter 4-night painting breaks.. We can also arrange special course dates for small groups of Landscape Painters (beginners or experienced) who would like to learn more about drawing and painting our beautiful Devon and Exmoor landscapes. We are close to beautiful and varied countryside, including the picturesque woodland and river valleys of the Exe and Barle, the open moorland of Exmoor and the historic villages and dramatic coastline of Devon and Somerset. Well-known West Country gardens nearby include Marwood Hill, Hestercombe, Tapeley Park, Burrow Farm, Rosemoor, Bicton and East Lambrook Manor, and there are National Trust properties at Knightshayes, Dunster and Barrington Court.
